I am so ridiculously proud of this pie I made for Thanksgiving. It's mincemeat with a lattice top. When you think mincemeat, most people think "ew," but this had no meat or suet in it. It's all apples and raisins and nuts and brandy. The piecrust is also made from scratch.

I got mad props for this pie from mincemeat fans in the family. Good times. My pie-making ego is so HUGE now. ;)

I also made a chocolate mousse pie that I make every year, but it isn't quite as pretty as the one above.

We went out and performed our civic duty last night. This the first time in 12 years that Rochester will have a new fearless leader. I voted for the guy that came in last (or second to last if you count the guy who ran on the legalize pot platform). B voted for the guy that came in second. (Those are B's legs in the machine) We both knew the guy that came in first would win by a huge margin. And he did.

After getting our "I voted" stickers, we went to Mex for some post-voting margaritas and dinner. Very tasty.

Man, this just brought back a shitload of memories. I miss making cassette tapes. CDs and MP3s are cool, but there's something missing there. (It's not the sound quality.) It's probably just the nostalgia talking. But I do still have more than a couple of those tapes on that page in my car right now.

You know what today is? It's the annual performance review day! In one hour, I get to sit around with my supervisor, who totally buries me in the brain department, and talk about my goals and career aspirations.

I bet anyone $100 that they mention my lack of motivation to complete my timesheets in a timely manner. Currently, I am five weeks behind. My personal best was eight weeks.

If I tell him my aspirations are to work about 20 hours a week and still make the same $$$, I wonder if that would get me fired? Maybe a black mark on my permanent record? Or that my goal is to see how late I can come in, while still leaving at four? I'll probably end up telling them that I want to improve my flash skills. And maybe learn a bit of the programming. Lame.

Monday night (Halloween evening) my husband and I went to see George Winston in concert. For those who have never heard of him, he's a piano guy. He plays piano. And harmonica. And guitar. Just him. No one else.

My husband is a HUGE fan of his, being a fellow piano-player-super-musically-talented-kind of guy. I am not one of those people so while I appreciate the music, it is very pretty, I need more to keep me entertained. I asked B if there would there be any pryo at the show? (No.) Are there elaborate costume changes? (No. [sighs]) Will George play the piano with his feet? (No. Shut up, Krissie) Hey, I know I can be annoying. :) He is such a trooper for putting up with me and my stupid questions.

It all works out because I'm making him take me to see Saw II tonight. Marriage is all about compromise baby...

These are the monster sandwiches that I made for the office halloween party. They were really tasty.
