This has not been a great week dental-wise for me. Monday I went in and had 3 fillings done. Today, I had my first root canal. Oi. Welcome to your 30's, where all the damage you did to your teeth in your 20's shows up all at once.

The root canal was no where near as bad as I had it pictured in my head. All unfamiliar dental procedures have the same internal mental scene. It's the "Is it safe?" scene from Marathon Man. Today was nothing like that. Plenty of novocain, 2 shots worth, one directly into the tooth. While the "sleepy water" has worn off and I'm a little sore, it's not too bad right now and it gave me the opportunity to take the afternoon off to sit home and wait for the cable guy.

Yes, after 4 months with no cable, we are finally getting cable installed. Not just that, but last night I hooked up the wireless DSL on my brand new phone line. It's been a long 4 months with no cable, no phone and no internet access at home. And to have it all back in one week is exhilarating.

And yes, I said we. I have a new roommate, one that will hopefully contribute to the mortgage. And who looks super cute when he's working on the house. :)

This morning when I went to go feed the poochies, I discovered some slime sucking ant bastards in the dog dish. I HATE ants. At least these were the little ones and not the big damn carpenter ants I had at the old apartment. I'd be really stressed out about that. I removed the food and then poured a bunch of Mr Clean into the wall under the baseboard where the little bastards were crawling from. I know I shouldn't get so angry, it's just nature, but it's really freaking gross. My kitchen is not a buffet for the critters outside. There's tons of food garbage blowing around my neighborhood, go eat some of that.

Hey Kris, what's with the political shit? Well, since Clear Channel pissed me off by taking of my favorite morning show and leaving me to listen to the local fluff, I'm taking action. By having a banner on my weblog, that no one really reads. Way to take a stand there, kris...
Check out the new side link thing. Pretty neat, eh? Yes, I'm the world's biggest hoser because it's taken me so freaking long to add that shit. Lame lame lame. Well, it's there now and hopefully, I'll keep the shit updated. Link lists are for sucks. ;)

When there's no more room in hell...
Here's my brief review of the Dawn of the Dead:

Holy freaking shit.

Here's my longer review:

I have no more internal conflict about the remake. It definitely wasn't better than the original. But if a remake had to get done, they made the right one. Good job. The rat fucking bastards who should burn in hell that did the Chainsaw remake should take a lesson on how to remake a classic.
Weekend Freaking Recap

Here's the brief lowdown.
Friday Night: Drunk on beer.
Saturday Night: Drunk on wine and beer.
Sunday Night: High on paint fumes.

Good times all around.

I'm feeling good today. Not sure if it's the sunny weather, the fact that it's Friday or that I got through the whole day without doing one bit of work and my boss is gone through next week. Actually, I feel sort of guilty about not doing anything, but I worked until like 11pm the other night so I feel justified in taking it easy today.

When there's no more room in hell, the dead will start to work where I do. I don't know what that means, but I know I really want to see the remake of Dawn of the Dead this weekend. There's a lot of internal conflict about that because of the abortion that was the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. (Which I saw in the theater) I hate to encourage these hollywood people to keep redoing these fab movies, but I'm drawn to them. Even though they usually suck worse than Bon Jovi's latest album. (the one where they remix their songs... grrr...)

Man, I held out as long as I could, but I couldn't resist making a page for Phoebe and Sadie on Dogster.

My new roommate moved in last night. She's very sweet and cuddly, but I don't think she's going to contribute much to the mortgage....

Right now, her name is Sadie Erma.

Good things/Bad things list.

Good: I recieved an unexpected thank you gift from a customer this morning guaranteeing that I don't need to go to the drug store anytime soon. :)

Bad: I ordered a half moon cookie at lunch today as a little splurge and they forgot to put it into the bag. No half moon cookie for me. :(

Good: My fabulous boyfriend ripped the old plaster down from underneath my older than God staircase and fixed all the creaking and cracking.

Bad: My attic window was "mysteriously" open the other day. No one who has been to the house has opened it. And unless Phoebe has figured out how to open the attic door and operate a window crank, it will remain a mystery how that window got opened. One I prefer not to think about too much, since I'm still living solo.

Good: All the snow had pretty much melted and I can once again fit two cars into my driveway, taking full advantage of my off-street parking situation. Let the parties start.

Bad: My yard is a mud pit. The ice and snow covering the fish pond has disappeared, uncovering about 12 dead floating fish. I own the Fish Pond of Death & Decay.
