Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

That's the sound of wearing maternity pants. Ugly? Yes. But so freaking comfortable. There's no going back now. I'm still making my normal shirts work, only because the maternity tops I've gotten are way too tent-like for now.

Today is the first day of spring. It is also the first day of me officially working at home. I got permission to work at home on Wednesdays. Holy crap, I love it so far. And strangely enough, I am being way more productive than I am in the office. Maybe it's the dogs. Maybe it's the tasty breakfast I made this morning. Or maybe it's the fear if I'm not productive, Wednesdays will turn from "Work at Home Wednesdays" to "No Shower and Wear Pajama Pants All Day Wednesdays" and that is Sunday's description.

Dear Default Work Pants (a.k.a my eddie bauer khakis),

It's been a great time wearing you to work. You've been with me for years, always there when I needed something to wear in the morning. You were comfortable, ok-looking and went with most of my shirts. I respect you.

Unfortunately, our time together is over. The rubber band worked for a while, as did my "tummy sleeve," but even with the button undone and the zipper totally down and rocking the sleeve, there is no longer enough room in there. I have to retire you. If only you had some stretch, like my favorite jeans do, I could make you last. However, you are too unforgiving and I have to put you away.

Hopefully, I will see you again when I return to work from maternity leave in January 2008.

Too big for you,
kris
