Apparently our new house is the bat cave. Last night, my husband saw a bat in the basement and this morning (at about 5:45) he saw hopefully the same bat on the kitchen floor. I came downstairs and put a box on top of it. Then I tried sliding it out of the way and Mr. Bat started making the most unholy noises. He's staying put for now.
Other than that, the move went well... sort of. Moving sucks. And moving in July on the second hottest day of the year sucks all kinds of ass.
**Evening Update**
The bat has been removed. We called ACME Wildlife Control. They came out, removed the bat and inspected the house for infestation. They thought we were pretty solid and think the bat was just a rogue. I hope so. I also found out that our new town is Bat-City. Something the realtor didn't mention. We should've stayed in the city, at least you can't get rabies from crackhouses...

Look on the bright side, at least you know your flying bug population will be kept in check.
