Two things.

One, I sold the house. The first guy that looked at it, loved it and made an offer the same afternoon. My realtor didn't even put a sign up outside. It was all very sudden and I'm so happy that things went so smoothly. I don't know if I could've kept up with keeping a "show-ready" house. Especially with the two monster shedders in the house. The inspection was yesterday and went well, so it looks like this is going to happen. The closing isn't until the end of July, so there's a little extra time to enjoy the work we've done over the past two and a half years.

Two, I've created my own country, The Kriseria Foundation, at Cyber Nations. At first, I thought it would be boring, but now I'm hooked.

Yesterday we went to the zoo. It was a great trip until we encountered the most annoying little boy in the world (the one in the photo). He was pounding on the glass and yelling at the polar bear. The polar bear kept coming up to the glass where the young Damien was standing and would sniff, like he was imagining how the demon child would taste. The look in the bear's eyes was pure desire to eat the child. Or at least the pure desire to back hand him with his big fuzzy polar bear paw.

And talking about things I didn't know about polar bears, their fur isn't actually white, it's clear and hollow.

What with all the house excitement, I almost forgot about my newest completed project. After about seven months of stopping and starting, I finally finished my second knitting project, the wild stripes baby blanket from knitty.

I think, considering my lack of mad knitting-skillz, it turned out pretty well. It was well received by the recipient last week and I hope it holds up.

My first knitting project was a scarf that was a Christmas present for my husband. It has since mysteriously disappeared... I like to think that someone saw it and saw how great it was and couldn't help themselves from stealing it.

One of my bad habits is buying things when I feel bad about something. Like, last Friday I was feeling pretty shitty about a couple of different things and I bought a couple of cute outfits to make myself feel better. It worked for about 20 minutes and then I fell into the Sarlacc pit of despair again. I started thinking that maybe I needed to up the purchase a bit.

So last weekend we bought a house. A big house in the suburbs. Our official offer was accepted today and now I'm freaking out just a tad bit. The tentative date is set for July 31. OMFG pretty much describes it right now. Definitely the most impulsive purchase I've even made.

Best news I've heard all year!

Finally! Now I have something to look forward to this fall...
